Team wins for County Tipperary Ladies and Mens teams over Clonmel and Slievenamon

The County Tipperary Golf & Country Club Ladies who defeated Clonmel Golf Club in the Munster Women’s Trophy at Dundrum.


County Tipperary Golf and Country Club basked in the sunshine with the benefit of a double victory over the weekend.

On Saturday our Ladies were triumphant in the Munster Women’s Trophy when they defeated Clonmel Golf Club 3/2.On Sunday our Bruen team, managed by Colm Taylor had a fine victory over Slievenamon Golf Club in a nail-biting finish that went down to the wire and was only decided with a play-off by the selected players after they played the first and second holes for the second time. Our selected players were David Downey and Sean Carroll.

The successful Bruen team members were Sean Carroll and David Downey, Brian Everard and Kevin McCarthy, Daniel Currivan and George Ryan, Aidan Murphy and Darragh Stapleton.

This Sunday is another big day for our club when our Mixed Team take on Cahir Park Golf Club in Dundrum at 2pm. The competition is a mixed foursomes and no doubt it will create a lot of interest.

The Singles Stableford Competition results were; in first place Philip Ryan (27) with 42 points, in second place Conor Ryan (19) with 42 points. Best Gross Thomas Queally (7) with 40 points and in third place Michael Ryan (24) with 41 points.


Results of the Singles Matchplay Club Qualifier - the top 31 scores to qualify plus last year’s winner Brian Slattery. The draw and the rules for the Singles Match Play are posted on the notice board. The leading qualifiers were John Foley with 40 points, Declan Ryan with 40 points and Timothy Ryan with 39 points.
