Revealed: Cross-border talks take place between Tipperary and Kilkenny officials

Kilkenny and Tipperary officials hold cross-border meeting

Great progress was made at a unique cross border meeting held in the South Tipperary County Council Chamber Offices in Carrick-on-Suir on Thursday when Members of Lingaun Valley Tourism met Kilkenny and Tipperary County Council Officials, their elected councilors from the Piltown and Carrick Municipal areas, both counties engineers Sean McMahon, Frank Stafford, Seamus Kavanagh, Brian Beck, Denis Power and their Tourism leaders Martina Comerford and Marie Phelan.

Also the respective counties Leader and Rural Development CEO’s along with John Egan and Harry Everard, Marie O'Gorman, Justine Carey of Fáilte Ireland, the Lingaun Valley committee and many other key stakeholders to discuss the next steps for the development and promotion of the Lingaun Valley.

The meeting was chaired by Councillor David Dunne with presentations by Richard Walsh and Tony Musiol of the Lingaun Valley Group and both CEO's Isobel Cambie Rural Development and Declan Rice, Kilkenny Leader.

In the open forum of the meeting contributions were made by the main representatives of both councils and councilors Mark Fitzgerald, Kevin O’Meara, David Dunne, Pat Dunphy, Ger Frisby and Lingaun Tourism Board member Cllr Tomás Breathnach.
