Teenagers and adults from Carrick-on-Suir and its surrounding areas showed great interest in courses run at Carrick-on-Suir Further Education & Training Centre at its open morning on Tuesday, April 16.
People of all ages flocked to the Tipperary Education & Training Board run centre, located at the former Comeragh College building at Greenside, to chat with learners and tutors about the selection of full and part-time courses available there as well as in other ETB centres across the county.
Visitors talked to adult guidance and information officers at the FET Centre, and also took guided tours of the facilities, which include computer classrooms, a woodwork room and cookery/barista kitchen.
Fiona Hennessy, Manager of Carrick-on-Suir FET Centre, said she was immensely proud of the exceptional work taking place at the Centre.
“Our dedicated team consistently delivers high-quality education and training, empowering individuals to reach their full potential,” she said.
“The open morning was so well attended by the local community and we were delighted to showcase the fantastic selection of courses that we have to offer.
“The Centre’s contribution to the locality is invaluable, providing essential skills and opportunities for all. The success stories of our learners are a testament to the Centre’s excellence.

Carrick-on-Suir FET Centre is a central location for a wide range of career and personal development courses that are National Framework of Qualification (NFQ) accredited from Levels 1-6.
These courses include, but are not limited to: Business and Office Administration, Computers/Information Technology Skills, Culinary Skills, Childcare, Get Connected with your Smartphone, Early Learning & Care (Childcare), Employment Skills, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Healthcare, Horticulture, Home Repairs & Maintenance, Numeracy Skills/Maths, Office Skills, Reading & Writing Skills, Woodwork, Mindfulness, Interior Design, Barista Skills, Emergency Medical Technician and many more.
