The Tipperary town Music Festival got off to a powerful start on Thursday May 9 at the Marquee on the Lidl grounds at Bank Place, Tipperary.

DJ Richie warmed up proceedings as the crowd settled down for a great night of music and dancing.

Award winning performer and vocalist, from Athenry in Co. Galway, Claudia Buckley, had the crowds on the dancefloor from her opening number.

Following firmly in the footsteps of her father, Country music legend Jimmy Buckley, Claudia has achieved an incredible amount of success so early on in her career and has performed at festivals, dance halls and indeed theatres all over Ireland and beyond.

Following on from Claudia was Johnny Brady; Johnny has been touring extensively throughout Ireland and the UK over the past five years and has built a reputation for having one of the finest dance bands on the Irish country music scene.

This was evident on Thursday night when the dancers filled the floor throughout the night, enjoying a first class performance from one of the most distinctive voices in modern country music.

The organising committee declared themselves well pleased with the attendance on the opening night and expect bumper crowds for the further 3 nights of entertainment.
