Susan McCann will perform at Brú Ború
Ireland’s First Lady of country music, the legendary household name Susan McCann brings her very special String Of Diamonds concert tour to the Brú Ború theatre in Cashel on Thursday, May 16.
It is sure to be a wonderful night of music and entertainment with Susan as she takes a trip down memory lane performing along with her live band.
Susan’s special guest for this show will be her granddaughter, Sinead, who will be joining Susan on stage and performing some special duets including the hugely popular Grandpa Tell ‘Bout The Good Old Days. Also joining Susan on stage will be her husband of over 50 years, Denis Heaney, playing accordion who has been her manager and mentor for all those years.
“Denis and I are a team. It wouldn’t have worked without him by my side. He is a quiet guy and when I recorded The Wind Beneath my Wings I did it for Dennis,” she says.
There is no stopping Susan, who is a household name in Irish country music and even after over 40 years in show business, she continues to diversify, forge new career paths, win awards and gain even greater admiration for her talents from fans and music industry chiefs both at home and abroad. Having recently recovered from cancer, she is delighted to be back touring again and looks forward to meeting up again with all her friends and fans in the Tipperary region.
Susan’s hit songs spring to mind whenever the First Lady of country’s name is mentioned such as Broken Speed of the Sound of Loneliness to her first number one Big Tom is still the King to her European Gold Star Award winner in Holland While I Was Making Love to You to the multi-lingual When the Sun Says Goodbye to the Mountains – some of which she sings in French.
Her iconic hit String of Diamonds medley (bits of the hits) has now given its name to a very successful concert tour. She has just released a brand new album After All This Time, the title track written by Irish singer/songwriter Derek Ryan.
