40th Anniversary of Ronald Reagan Visit to Ballyporeen


The Ballyporeen Community Council have two events planned to celebrate the visit:


Photographs & Artifacts Display of Reagan Visit in the Hall: From Friday evening, May 31 starting at 7:30 till 9 . Daily from 10 am to 9 pm over the weekend to Monday, June 3 finishing 9 pm.


Timeline Presentation of Reagan Visit: Saturday at 8 pm (after Mass) in the Hall. This will be a visual narrated talk from when the connection was first known to the day itself and aftermath. It’ll also include the legacy Homecoming Festivals, St Patrick’s Day Parades, infrastructure, and you’d never know who might pop in.


If anyone has photos relating to the visit and the Homecoming Festivals or artifacts for display, please contact any Community Council Member.


Photos will be scanned, and all items returned.
