Tipperary Volunteer Centre in partnership with Tipperary County Council, the Irish Wheelchair association and the HSE disability office delivered Gold Star disability awareness and inclusion training to management and staff members of FBD Semple Stadium and members of Tipperary GAA.

This is to coincide with the funding that Tipperary County Council secured from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to build a “Changing Places” Facility.

The stadium is one of only a few sites in the country and one of Tipperary’s first ever state of the art “Changing Places” facilities which enables those with complex needs to attend matches and other events at the stadium.

The Gold Star programme was delivered by people with disabilities and this will be the first of many programmes rolled out across the County.
