Fundraiser to repair tower at historic church in Tipperary

Repairs need to be carried out to the battlements on the tower of Old St Mary's Church in Clonmel

The Church of Ireland, Clonmel union of parishes is urgently fundraising for immediate repairs to be carried out to the battlements on the tower of Old St Mary’s Church, Clonmel.

The church is a small congregation and is trying very hard to maintain this wonderful building for future generations.

Since the retirement of Canon Barbara Fryday three years ago, the church is without a permanent rector and is overseen by the Dean of Cashel, Very Rev James Mulhall.

Much of the work in the church is carried out by a team of volunteers and different clergy come on Sundays to take the services.

The next fundraiser is a coffee morning in The Place4U cafe in Gladstone Street/ Morton Street, Clonmel on Thursday, June 6 from 10am to 12 noon.

There will also be a raffle and your support would be appreciated.
