Mixed team bow out
Friday, our Mixed Team played away Templemore in the Mixed Competition. Michael O’Donnell, Paudie Lahart, Willie McGarry, Patrick Johnson, Teresa O’Brien, Ann O’Dea, Margo Condon and Phil Whyte put up a fantastic display but unfortunately we lost 3:1 to Templemore, who were fantastics opponents, and we wish them the very best in the next round.
Pierse Purcell odyssey ends
And finally to our Pierce Purcell team. What can we say?
Over the past two months, they have brought us on an incredible adventure as they took one scalp after the next to reach the quarter finals of the Pierce Purcell Competition. On Sunday last they played away to Cahir Park - last year’s All Ireland Semi Finalists. After a nervous start, they fought back, played some really incredible golf and never let up for a moment. The final score of 4-0 to Cahir in no way reflects the closeness of the matches, the quality of the golf or the heart and commitment of our players, and we are incredibly proud of them. What a ride!
