Tipperary students with proud Waterford heritage Stick-It to everyone with national award

Annamai Condon and Clodagh Desmond from Ballymacarbry are Transition Year students in the Loreto Secondary School in  Clonmel. They were delighted to be announced as the overall winners for the Foroige NFTE Youth Entrepreneurs of the Year awards 2024 at a ceremony held at Richmond Barracks , Dublin on Wednesday May 8. They will now represent Ireland in Berlin in the NFTE young entrepreneurs European competitions in Berlin Germany this October.
Stick It won the title after competing against over 7,000 young entrepreneurs from all over Ireland through a series of local, county, regional. And semi-finals, with a total of 186 local competitions taking place , leading to 30 regional finals. 
Their enterprise business called STICK-IT is an innovative new product to the Irish Market . It is an affordable device which attaches easily onto your bicycle/ gear bag /school bag which securely holds your hurley/hockey stick in place keeping your hands free. This device ensures safe cycling for children going to training, keeping there gear safely attached to their bike.
This clever simple idea has proven a great success and they won two awards earlier this year with Enterprise Ireland in Thurles.
The girls are busy visiting local GAA clubs and hockey clubs with their product and it’s a big hit amongst the teenagers. Many teenagers and young children shared their stories whereby their Hurley sticks got caught  in the spokes of their bicycles. Stick it is the Solution to this problem keeping them safe. 
The girls hope to drive their sales over the Summer months at trade shows and local agricultural shows. 
STICK IT is stocked in Gadget man in Dungarvan and are they hoping to get more local businesses to support their product. They received great support from both Waterford and Tipperary sports stars. Stephen Bennett, Niamh Rockett, Ronan Maher, Darragh Lyons, Conor Prunty to name but a few. Stick it even reached as far as Galway into the hands of All Ireland Clubs winner Eanna Burke. 
The girls are so honoured to be representing Ireland at the NFTE European awards this October in Berlin, Germany. 
So get out there and go STICK-IT .
