Drug driver who led Tipperary gardaí on chase arrested after almost crashing into home

A drug driver who led gardaí on a chase has been arrested after losing control of his car and almost crashing into a house in Tipperary.

According to An Garda Síochána, the Roads Policing Unit in Tipperary were on patrol yesterday morning (June 17) when their number plate recognition system picked up an uninsured car.

When the officers went to pull the driver in, he drove off, eventually lost control of the car, collided with a fence and just missed a collision with a house.

It was discovered the driver was an unaccompanied learner with no insurance.

He also tested positive for cocaine on the roadside.

The car, which has now been seized, had a dangerously bald tyre and no valid NCT.
