Tipperary Town player is getting ready for the Olympic Games in Paris

Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe is on her way to the Olympic Games.

The Tipperary Town woman has been selected in the Irish Rugby Women's Sevens squad for the tournament, which will be played at the Stade de France in Paris.

The Women’s tournament takes place on July 28, 29 and 30. 

The Men’s tournament will be played on July 24, 25 and 27.

Lucy Rock will lead the Ireland Women, as head coach Allan Temple-Jones’ side prepare for their maiden Olympic appearance in Paris.

Having played key roles in qualification for Paris, Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe, Stacey Flood, Emily Lane, Béibhinn Parsons, Erin King, Vicky Elmes Kinlan, Eve Higgins and Megan Burns are all included in the squad, as is Ashleigh Orchard, just 12 months after giving birth to her daughter Arabella.

Kathy Baker has made a strong comeback from a long-term knee injury and teenager Alanna Fitzpatrick – who made her senior debut last summer – completes the travelling squad.

Claire Boles and Amy Larn have been selected as travelling reserves.
