A musician from Armagh in Northern Ireland has charmed fans of The 2 Johnnies after the Tipperary duo shared his rendition of a classic song on their social media.
Piaras Ó Lorcain - also known as Pearse Larkin - sang a rendition of Christie Moore's 'The Contender' on The 2 Johnnies Xtra Podcast, which resonated with hundreds of listeners.
The Johnnies posted a video of the cover song on their official Facebook page yesterday (June 26), stating, "Piaras Ó Lorcain gives us an amazing rendition of The Contender on [sic] episode 222, available now only on Patreon or through the Spotify app."
Following the performance, Johnny Smacks said the hairs on his arms were "standing up".
Hundreds of people commented on the video and described the rendition as "beautifully done" and mesmerising.
One Facebook user wrote, "That was class, never seen the boys so quiet."
Another commented, "Lovely voice, very seldom you can understand every word that’s sang. But this chap is so clear."
Another commenter stated, "I've listened to this on repeat, such a performance."
