Inquest into deaths of four young Tipperary people on way to Leaving Cert party begins today

An inquest into the deaths of four young Tipperary people who died in a horror crash on their way to celebrate Leaving Cert results in Clonmel last year is due to get underway today, Thursday.

On August 25 last year, Luke McSweeney (24) was driving his sister Grace (18), and her friends Zoey Coffey (18) and Nicole Murphy (18) to the celebrations in Clonmel when they died in the collision. 

According to The Journal.ie, Gardaí have concluded their investigation file for the coroner and the inquest is due to get underway later this morning in Clonmel. 

Thousands turned out in the town of Clonmel in the days that followed the tragic crash to pay their respects, with the funerals drawing large crowds from across the county as the wider Tipperary community left shocked and numbed by the tragedy.
