The Ballingarry Famine 1848 Warhouse

The Annual Ballingarry Famine 1848 Walk will take place on Saturday, July 27, at 3pm.

The Walk commemorates the Famine and the 1848 Rising, and remembers all those who suffered, died and emigrated.

Martin Maher is this year's Famine 1848 Walk leader.

Martin has been heavily involved in everything concerning the Famine Warhouse 1848 and its development, and has been Chairman of the 1848 Commemoration Committee for many years.

The starting point for the Walk is the Young Ireland and National Flag monument in the village of The Commons.

The Walk covers 1.5 miles and concludes at the Famine Warhouse 1848, the State National Heritage Site, where Martin will deliver his keynote speech.
