There was great craic agus ceoil to be had at the Munster Fleadh in Thurles last week and a group of girls from Cahir took the opportunity to recreate a famous Father Ted scene in the back of a Garda van.

The Fleadh attracted thousands of people to Thurles for a week of music and the gardaí were there engaging with the public.

They shared a brilliant clip at the weekend as group of teenagers from the Chair Comhaltas group wedged themselves into the back of the van to dance and sing to the air of Oró, Sé Do Bheatha 'Bhaile.

The clip was reminiscent of the famous scene in Father Ted when Graham Norton's character Fr Noel Furlong leads a group of people in an Irish jig inside a tiny caravan.

The Tipperary Garda Facebook page posted the video with the caption: "Comhaltas girls from Cahir with their own version of the Father Ted caravan scene."

Luckily and unlike in Father Ted, the van didn't tip over!
