Limelight Theatricals presents a hilariously spooky romp with their production of 'The Addams Family' at The Source

In the quirky, upside-down world of the Addams Family, being sad means being happy, feeling pain means feeling joy, and dreams are filled with death and suffering.

Despite their eccentricities, this peculiar family still faces many of the same challenges as any other. The spookiest nightmare of all—growing up—becomes the focus of Lippa, Brickman, and Elice’s musical.

For hundreds of years, the Addams’ have lived by their unique values, and Gomez and Morticia, the family’s patriarch and matriarch, would love to keep it that way. However, their dark, macabre, and beloved daughter Wednesday is now an eighteen-year-old young woman ready to forge her own path.

She has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family—the most un-Addams person imaginable! To complicate matters, she has invited the Beinekes to their home for dinner.

In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are revealed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must confront the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.

Limelight Theatricals is a Youth Musical Theatre Group for 14–19-year-olds, based in Thurles and are open to participants from all the surrounding areas. We were set up by Emily Matthews and Therese Maher in 2023 for the purpose of putting on a musical theatre production every summer.
