Fethard Ballroom
Fethard Ballroom car park will be resurfaced in mid-August but a pothole posing a public safety risk to motorists parking there will be tackled before the works start, Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District’s monthly meeting was told.
District Engineer Denis Power gave a commitment to get council workers to fill the pothole in the busy car park ahead of the resurfacing works commencing after Labour Cllr Michael Brennan highlighted the danger it posed at the meeting.
Cllr Brennan warned a person is going to get hurt due to this pothole and reported seeing a women whose “legs went from under her” when she stepped into the pothole while getting out of a car in the car park. The heel of her shoe broke when she stepped into the hole.
Mr Power said the resurfacing of the car park will be carried out in mid-August and he estimated the work will take just a day. “I will get the lads to look at the pothole and do something to tide us over until the work is done,” he added.
