Sharlene Mawdsley competes in 400-metre repechage today to qualify for Olympic semi-final

Sharlene Mawdsley will compete in the 400m repechage later this morning in her last bid to qualify for the semi-finals of the Women's 400m semi-final.

The Newport AC athlete finished in fourth position in her heat on Monday morning and with only the top three from the heats qualifying directly for the semi-finals, Mawdsley was resigned to the repechage to qualify.

She will be hoping she can find her form as the race takes place at 10.20 am, with Mawdsley racing in repechage 4 which will be shown live on RTÉ 2.
