The Irish Field Archery Monthly magazine has announced that the second annual Festival of Archery will take place in Thurles.

The Black Castle Archers club venue in Kilrush Woods will be the venue for the event.

The festival will take place on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8.

The Saturday is open and free of charge to the public to learn about, watch and try different aspects of archery, while Sunday incorporates an calendared archery competition for registered archers for the usual shoot fees.

Saturday also contains a challenge for registered archers for an entry fee.

Some of the activities planned for the weekend include archery and craft stalls, archery buy and sell, archery clubs showcase, "Have a Go" sessions, informative talks and podcasts, cross-border partnerships, and various competitions and tournaments.

For more information on the festival, check out the TIFAM website.
