The Eire Og /Sean Treacys combination are through to the Cooper Fencing Ltd. West Under 19B Hurling Championship Final for the third time in four years as they got the better of Galtee Rovers at Pairc Ciocaim Dundrum on Wednesday evening.

Full forward James Butler put in a man-of-the-match performance with his three second-half goals, while also putting over two points during the opening half. He was well assisted by Darragh Carr and Larry Collins, who put in a big shift around the middle of the park.
Galtee Rovers put in a good opening quarter, but from then on were always playing catch-up and were over-reliant on Bill Quirke to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Galtee Rovers, who played with the aid of a diagonal wind for the opening half while defending the Railway end, got off to a good start and had three points on the board by the sixth minute, with Bill Quirke getting two from placed balls and Robbie McGrath chipping in with the other.
Darragh Carr got the Combo moving with the first of his four points from open play before Darragh Kelly had the sides on level terms, from two placed balls, by the tenth minute. From then on they more or less controlled the game, with their defence getting on top. They led at the break by 0.9 to 0.6 and were good value for this lead.

James Butler got the Combo off to a flying start after just 25 seconds when he rattled the Galtee net for goal number one. Bill Quirke kept Galtee in contention from placed balls but Butler struck again in the 39th minute with another major and completed his hat trick nine minutes later to put six between the sides.
Bill Quirke goaled from a 20-meter free, with one minute remaining, to reduce the deficit to three, but Darragh Carr closed out the scoring with his fourth point of the evening as the game entered added time.

The Eire Og/Sean Treacys combination now meets Arravale Rovers in the Final.
