14 hikers from the Roscrea Trail Blazers took on Scafell Pike in the UK, at a height of 978 metres, on the weekend of August 17.
Taking a bus from Roscrea, the ferry to Holyhead and onward to our accommodation at Eskdale in Cumbria where they had a 12km low level walk around the Lake District before climbing Scafell Pike on Sunday.
The weather was kind to the walkers, as they hiked the 10km to the summit and back down in under 5 hours.
Their next weekend away is to Achill Island in September.
Their walk last Thursday was postponed due to a poor weather forecast.
The group's Thursday night walk this week on August 29 is a walk that is always well attended, The Silver River Loop at Cadamstown.
The group will be meeting at The Silver River Trail Head Cadamstown at 7:30pm.
