'Old friendships renewed and new ones formed,' Tipperary class of 1964 reunites

Past pupils of the old Ballylooby school thanked everyone who made their reunion possible

"Old friendships renewed and new ones formed" Class '64 reunites for the very first time

A large gathering of former pupils gathered from near and far in Ballylooby Community Hall for the first time since 1964.

The reunion took place on Sunday, August 25 of this year and guests were welcomed by the chairperson of Ballylooby Community Council, Pat Reidy.

Pat spoke briefly about the organisation of the event and the old school followed by a roll call which was said to have been "answered impeccably but it also caused great mirth".

Parish priest Fr John Nally also addressed the gathering for the special occasion.

The remainder of the reunion was spent enjoying refreshments provided by council members and volunteers as well as reminiscing over an array of old photographs which had been displayed for the event.

Those in attendance also extended their gratitude towards the "generous sponsors who never let us down".
