Tipperary secondary school secretary retires after 46 years

Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed secretary, Ms Úna Fogarty, has retired, after 46 years with the school.

Úna had begun her 47th year on August 21, where she was feted and congratulated on her retirement.

She was also a student at Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed in the past.

Úna subsequently did a PLC course with the VEC, where she qualified as a secretary and then began a lengthy career as a secretary extraordinaire from 1978 in Gairmscoil Mhuire as our school was formally known.

The school say they will dearly miss Úna at the school, and wish her all the best going forward as she embarks on new chapters in her life.

A keen gardeer and grandmother of young grandchildren, Úna will no doubt be busy in her retirement days.
