Tipperary mining group holding monthly draw to raise funds for new book

Slieveardagh Mining Group Book Committee is holding a 200 Club draw to raise funds to produce a book to preserve the Mining Heritage in the Slieveardagh area, and to honour all miners and their families.

The draw will run for 12 months, from October 2024 to September 2025, and will cost €10 per month.

The prize fund will consist of €1,000 per month.

€500 will go to the winner, with €200 going to the runner up, and €100 going to third place.

Those who finish in fourth, fifth and sixth will each receive €50, with another €50 being offered as the promoters prize.

The draw will take place on the last Thursday of each month.

The deadline for money to be paid in is the middle of each month.

If anyone would like to promote the draw, cards are available.

The Mining Group Book will also host a coffee morning on Saturday, September 14, in The Old ,School, The Commons from 10am to 2pm.

They will display mining photographs and others on the morning.

They will also be joined by the miners, who will tell their stories and answer questions.

If you wish to bring photos you wish to be included in the book, we will scan them and give them back to you.

All proceeds go towards the book.
