Mid Tipperary U13 Hurling Championship Group 3 Final
Holycross Ballycahill 6-5
Durlas Óg 2-4
There was also disappointment for Durlas Óg in the Group 4 Mid U13 Hurling Championship Final on Saturday, as they succumbed to a strong second-half performance by Holycros Ballycahill.
The sides were well matched in the first half of the contest with the boys in green taking a slender 2-4 to 2-2 lead at the half-time break.
But the Holycross youngsters - showing their quality after the break - had more scoring threat for a finish with Patrick Skehan, Philip Dwyer, and captain Ryan Ferncombe the scorers for the eventual winners.
Durlas Óg again showed great fight and determination in this game, and a few goals seemed to take the effort out of the young lads in red, but they had outstanding performances too in the form of Cillian Murphy, Joey Stapleton, and Jayden Ryan to name but a few, and they can hold their heads high after giving their all on the day.
They battled gamely for the remainder of the second half but Holycross had the lead to hold out late on.
