Fáilte Ireland’s growing sales through Destination Development Programme launch, took place today [Monday 30th September] in Carton House, Co. Kildare where senior managers and owners from 20 hospitality businesses across Kildare and Tipperary came together to learn how to connect Thoroughbred Country to their visitor experience.
They are looking to increase overnight stays and encourage the spread of tourism across the region.
The 18-month immersive programme will provide the participating businesses with useful tools to maximise this commercial opportunity and broaden their understanding of Thoroughbred Country's unique identity.
This programme is part of the Thoroughbred Country Destination Experience Development Plan, which launched in 2022 with the aim of driving the sustainable development of tourism in Kildare and Tipperary through new and enhanced visitor experiences.
Tipperary has three race tracks and has a fine tradition of thoroughbred horse breeding across many decades so it is hoped this programme can help drive increased tourism in the area.
