A 2.5km section of the Suir Blueway near Carrick-on-Suir closed on weekdays since the end of July to facilitate €550,000 upgrade works, has now fully reopened.

Tipperary County Council and Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District announced they are delighted to confirm the section of Blueway between Arrigan’s Boreen and the MSD plant at Ballydine is now fully open ahead of schedule.

This part of the popular riverside amenity walk/cycle route had been closed on weekdays since Monday, July 29 due to the project that included widening and resurfacing the Blueway path. However, it remained open to the public for use at weekends during the works.

Tipperary County Council said the Blueway path widening works are now complete and additional seating and signage will be erected shortly.
