Planning applicants seek to turn back time on Bansha dwelling to its original two units

A planning application has been submitted to Tipperary County Council to alter an existing derelict house at Barrack Street, Bansha in Co. Tipperary.

The applicants are seeking planning permission to reverse historical works which had combined two dwellings into one and their intention is to return the dwelling to its two separate residential units.

Additionally, the applicants are looking to construct extensions to the rear of the proposed dwellings and all associated site works at Barrack Street.

The property in question is a two-storey, end of terrace dwelling located in the centre of Bansha
village. it was originally two separate dwellings but was converted into one house in the 1980's.

The front door of the second dwelling was blocked up on the street elevation but is clearly visible internally. One door has been knocked through on the ground floor which is the
only connection between the two original dwellings.

A decision is expected to be made in November regarding the planning application.
