Tipperary shop wins another award at Gala awards ceremony

Following on from winning a Gala Retail Excellence Award in early September, Mulrooney’s Gala in Roscrea is once again celebrating, as the Tipperary store was announced as the overall winner of Best Fresh Food within the Gala Retail Group.

Also awarded was the NHG Group who own and operate Gala Nenagh, Ballintoher Road.

The Group received the Special Merit Award at the Gala Retail event.

Directors Darragh Neill and Eoghan Higgins operate six Gala stores, including the Gala store in Nenagh at Ballintoher Road.

Held last week, the Gala Retail event marked the end of the Group’s 25th year of anniversary celebrations.

Compered by comedian, Barry Murphy, Irish rugby legend, Ronan O’Gara was the guest of honour, with Irish band, Spring Break closing the evening.

Bringing Gala Retailers, Wholesalers and Suppliers together, the event took place over four days with the highlight being the Gala Celebratory Evening.

The Gala Retail category awards are the highest accolades within the Group, and this award-win for Mulrooney’s Gala, Roscrea, recognises the store’s commitment to providing fresh food to its customers daily.

Commenting on Mulrooney’s Gala, Gary Desmond, CEO of Gala Retail, congratulated the winning store, saying: “Mulrooney’s Gala constantly demonstrates innovation and delivers fresh products that exceed customers expectations every time they visit. From chicken fillet rolls to fresh cream cakes, all their dishes are cooked to perfection and are bursting with flavour. The store team’s passion for food is obvious. Many congratulations to the entire team at Mulrooney’s Gala. A deserving winner and we wish the store continued success.”

Last month, several other Gala Retail stores from the county were acknowledged at the Group’s Excellence Awards for demonstrating exemplary standards in convenience retailing.

These included: Mulrooney's Gala, Templemore; Hurley's Gala, Borrisoleigh; Mulrooney's Gala, Nenagh; Mulrooney's Gala, Roscrea; Mulrooney's Gala, Birr; Mulrooney's Gala Portumna, Larkins Gala, Ballina and O’Sullivan’s Gala, Golden.
