Short film about Tipperary woman killed during witch hunt to premiere

The new short film based on the life and death of Bridget Cleary from the Ballyvadlea witch burning is selling out venues in Tipperary.

It has been written by locals Brian Clancy and Anne Williamson, who present a new take on what happened.

The short film was filmed by Diceman Productions and sound recordist Adrian Brett, and filmed in and around Cloneen, with local actors from The Fionn mac Cumhaill players and some neighbouring drama groups.

It premieres in Cloneen on November 1, also playing in Fethard Abymill on November 8.

Some tickets are still available for the Mullinahone showing on November 16.

You can contact 087 294 8231 for tickets.

The Source Arts Centre, Thurles will also show the film.

You can buy tickets on their website, or 050490204.

Other venues to be available shortly.
