FBD Insurance Intermediate Camogie Championship Final

Sunday 13th October – County Camogie Grounds @ 1pm

Moycarkey Borris vs Moneygall

The FBD Insurance Intermediate Camogie Final promises to be a gripping showdown as Moycarkey Borris takes on Moneygall on Sunday, 13th October, at 1 pm in the County Camogie Grounds. Both teams are in excellent form, and with promotion on the line, this final is set to deliver a fierce contest.

Moneygall will be determined to make amends for last year's heartbreak after losing the Intermediate final to Shannon Rovers. However, this time they’ll have the experience of centre-back Julie Kelly, whose leadership will be crucial in defense.

They’ve also welcomed back Mairead Teehan, who has bolstered their forward line and added significant firepower. Moneygall’s squad is no stranger to county final pressure, having won the Junior A title in 2022.

Tipperary senior player Mary Ryan is likely to play a key defensive midfield role, aiming to stifle the Moycarkey Borris attack.

In their semi-final, Moneygall overcame Cahir, pulling away in the second half with scores from Caitlyn Treacy, Mairead Teehan, and Niamh Larkin, securing a comfortable win. Caitlyn Treacy has continued her strong form after her success with the Tipperary minors, and team captain Edwina King will be hoping to lead them to victory.

Moycarkey Borris, on the other hand, are on a remarkable trajectory. Having won the Junior B final two years ago, followed by an impressive win in the Junior A final last year, they are now chasing their third promotion in as many years.

Under the guidance of manager Ray Ralph and captain Maria Kinane, Moycarkey Borris have shown resilience and skill throughout the season. Sarah Corcoran, captain of the Tipperary minors, has been their standout player, consistently delivering high-scoring performances from both frees and play.

Her points in the closing stages of the semi-final helped secure a narrow and hard-fought win over Boherlahan Dualla. Kate Ralph and Amy Callinan have also been key players for Moycarkey, contributing to their successful campaign.

With both teams boasting a mix of experience and rising talent, this final promises to be an intense battle.

Moneygall will be motivated by last year's disappointment, while Moycarkey Borris are on a historic run, aiming for their third consecutive promotion. It’s shaping up to be a fascinating clash between two well-matched sides.
