'Living legend' - Jim O' The Mills pub shares cheerful photo of its iconic publican

The iconic Jim O' The Mills Pub

Jim O' the Mills pub in Upperchurch, Thurles has shared a wonderful photo of the man himself, owner of the pub Jim Ryan, with a hurl in his hands ready to go!

The Facebook post reads: "Fifty years today since Dad won the Dan Breen cup as a full back for Thurles Sarsfields on the 13th October 1974. Still going strong!"

The Facebook post has received lots of comments, praising the iconic pub and the man behind it all.

One person said: "Come out of Retirement Jim - the Sars need you back!!!!"

Another person commented: "Jim of the Mills is on my bucket list. Hope to visit this wonderful place soon and meet the famous Jim himself."

Jim O' the Mills pub is famous for its lively music sessions every Thursday night which bring people from all over to the pub's cosy fireside setting.
