Cashel Community School gathered on Friday 4 October to celebrate the sporting achievements of the school community and to express their appreciation for their recently retired principal Mr. John Gallagher.
MC for the event, Mr. Brendan Ryan thanked the former principal Mr. Gallagher for his unwavering support for extracurricular activities at the school. The school said that Mr. Gallagher's dedication to fostering a rich environment for student engagement has left a lasting impact on the school community.
Past and present students at Cashel Community School were welcomed, with a special greeting extended to students who had achieved notable success in sports over the past year.
Many students were recognized for their sporting successes such as Hannah Butler and Sarah McLoughlin, who won the Munster and All Ireland Minor camogie titles, as well as Molly Gilmartin, Grace Moloney, Anna and Lily Fahie, who claimed the All Ireland Junior Camogie championship.

The event also honoured Ben Currivan (captain), Ronan Connolly, Adam Daly, Oisín O'Donoghue, Dylan Fogarty, Ger O'Dwyer, and Jack Quinlan for their victory in the Munster U20 hurling championship.
Mr. Ryan also delivered an inspiring tribute to the exceptional achievements of other students at the school to highlight their outstanding performances in various sports over the summer.
Ruby Buckley was commended for her remarkable 5th place in world lyrical dance and 1st in the group section. Dáire O'Donnell’s qualification for the European U18 800m, and Aoife O'Donnell’s inclusion in the Munster Schools U15 soccer squad were also noted by Mr. Ryan.
In tennis, student Aidan Garcia Seeber represented Ireland in U12 tennis competitions in the Czech Republic and Birmingham, and reached the national finals in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
Conor Hayes competed internationally as part of the Irish tetrathlon team, and Dominyk Domeika showcased his talent in mixed martial arts at an international competition in Dublin.
There were even more sporting successes for students at the school with Aisling Cully and Aoife O’Donnell winning the Munster U14 B Ladies Football title, and Sarah Rose Meehan and Gemma Hayes taking home the Munster U16 B Ladies Football title.
Doireann Ryan, Evanne Gleeson, and Leah Maher also secured the Munster U16A camogie shield, while Niamh Manton captained Tipperary to victory in the Munster U16B camogie championship.
All of these fantastic students were praised for their exceptional achievements in sports, with Mr. Ryan emphasising the importance of these students as role models in their ability to balance academics and sports.
Staff at the school were also thanked for their dedication to supporting students' sporting pursuits. A special mention also went to Mrs. Moore for her decade-long commitment to maintaining the school's operations alongside its extracurricular activities, and to the management team for their encouragement of diverse sports programs.
