Local Tipperary photographer Photographer Pádraig Ó Flannabhra's book 'Shane MacGowan: Songsmith' recently launched in Dublin at The Palace bar on Fleet Street.
Following on from the book's successful launch at Nenagh Arts Centre in September, fans and friends of the late great singer, made their way up the long steep stairs of The Palace Bar to procure a copy of the book picturing the Pogue.
The Dublin launch was hosted by Shane's wife Victoria Mary Clarke in the splendid surroundings of Willie Aherne's historic bar, once described by poet Patrick Kavanagh as 'the most wonderful temple of Art' .
The success of the book continues with every copy sold in support of UNICEF ( United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund ) helping Children in Palestine and the Gaza Strip. Further copies are available on line atwww.buythebook.ieand posted out .
