MONEYGALL
Under 21: Our U21 hurlers got a win on the board in the north championship on Sunday, beating Newport by 2-11 to 0-12. The strong swirling wind made puckouts, striking and shooting extremely tricky on the day. The all important goals were scored by Shay Gleeson and Eoghan Doughan in the first half.
Our next match will be against Borrisokane this Saturday at 12 noon in Borrisokane.
Under 15: Our U15s played Ballinahinch/Templederry in the semi final of the North U15 B Shield competition on Saturday last. Ballinahinch/Templederry came out on top by 2-7 to 1-3.
Camogie: Best of luck to the Moneygall players and management who will face the reigning Munster and All Ireland champions Clanmaurice (Kerry) in the Munster Intermediate semi final this Saturday at 2pm.
The girls will have home venue for this game in Moneygall, so we look forward to another great turnout of support for the team as they aim to continue their great year.
Lotto: This week the main jackpot stands at €14,100 and the second spin jackpot of €500 can also be won.
The draws take place every Tuesday night, and results can be viewed on facebook each week.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.moneygall.gaa.ie and we are very grateful for your ongoing support.
LOUGHMORE CASTLEINEY
What a fantastic weekend for our club. Two football County finals played and two won. On Saturday our Premier Junior team took on Jk Brackens and after a really tough battle we emerged winners on a score line of 1-11 to 1-09.
On to Sunday and into the Stadium to face Clonmel Commercials. Not even Storm Ashley was going to stop the boys today.
They started in really fine style and having taken the lead in the 3rd minute they never backed off. The work rate was seriously good and we got to halfway 0-09 to 0-04 ahead. The second half was only 20 seconds old when Noel McGrath kicked over no 10 and despite the elements and the renowned ability of the Clonmel attack, we held out to win our third Senior double in 11 years.
To the players on all three County winning teams we can only say how delighted we are for you all..
These victories don’t come easy and the work that you guys have put in all year was incredible. You are all rewriting the history books of club GAA and to a man we are so grateful to be here to witness it.
Please god we will continue in this fine vein of form as we go on to represent Tipperary in the Munster Championships. Thanks also to the various Management teams and everyone who has contributed in any way to these successes. Thanks to all our sponsors and to those who have contributed to the training fund. Your help is so so important to the club and is never taken for granted.
