LATEST: Uisce Éireann to carry out vital work for local Tipperary town

Uisce Éireann is carrying out essential works for the Clonmel Water Supply Upgrade.

The project will improve the security and resilience of the water supply across the town and will result in homes and businesses in Clonmel and surrounding areas being able to enjoy a safer, more secure supply.

Shareridge is working on behalf of Uisce Éireann to deliver the project.

As part of the project, site investigation works will take place on Thomas Street and Dillon Street on Wednesday, November 13, and Thursday, November 14, between 6pm and 11pm.

Temporary traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works and local and emergency access will be maintained.

Uisce Éireann regrets any inconvenience that the delivery of these necessary water network improvements may cause and would like to thank the local community and road users for their continued cooperation and patience.

This project represents a multi-million-euro investment by Uisce Éireann in water infrastructure in Clonmel and surrounding areas.

The works involve an upgrade to the treatment facilities at Monroe Water Treatment Plant; the installation of 15km of new water mains, as well as upgrades to the Rathronan Pump Station which will connect the Monroe supply to the Clonmel North Reservoir and Poulavanogue network.

It will address water quality risks for customers on the town’s Poulavanogue supply, allowing it to be taken off the EPA’s Remedial Action List.
