Old Bridge 0-1 Cashel Town (B)
This was a deserved three points for Cashel Town after their victory over Old Bridge in Green Lane in Division 2 of the Tipperary Southern and District soccer League.
The first half was full of endeavour from both sides but was devoid of any real good football or chances created. The Bridge had one excellent chance to score but failed to avail of it, and this was to prove costly as the game wore on.
The second period started off similarly to the first, but the Bridge seemed to wilt and run out of ideas, and they were punished in the 60th minute when Dean Harding cushioned a great header to the net to put Cashel one up.
Old Bridge found themselves in deeper trouble when they were reduced to ten men when they had a player dismissed for a second yellow card.
They fought on bravely but never looked like scoring, while Cashel squandered two glorious chances to wrap the game up, but they needn’t have worried and in the end ran out deserving winners.
