The four Tipperary schools participating in this year's TUS Dr. Harty Cup have all secured knockout hurling after a cluster of round 3 games that were played on Wednesday.
Our Lady's Templemore secured their place in the knockout stages after a good win over Castletroy College of Limerick in Toomevara, finding their way to victory despite hitting numerous wides throughout.
Cashel Community School are also safely through their group despite not yet playing their round 3 game, with the St Joseph's Tulla's loss to Charleville CBS confirming at least second spot in their group. The 2023 champions will play Blackwater College of Waterford next Tuesday in Fethard to decide who tops the group.
Finally, Nenagh CBS and Thurles CBS had completed their games in their respective three-team groups before round 3, but they will have to settle for second sport in their groups after results on Wednesday went against them; St. Flannan's hitting 9 goals to defeat Tralee CBS on finish top on scoring difference, while Midleton CBS thrashed Colaiste Choilm to top Nenagh's group.
The draw for the knockout games will be made after the remaining round 3 games are played next week. Currently, Nenagh CBS, Our Lady, Templemore, and Thurles CBS will possibly face a preliminary quarter-final or quarter-final depending on the draw due to finishing second in their groups.
