Tipperary firms received almost €14m grant aid to assist them with increased costs

Details on the amount of grant aid allocated to Tipperary businesses under the Increased Cost of Business and Power Up grants were outlined at Tipperary County Council's annual Budget Meeting

Tipperary businesses have benefitted from almost €14m in Increased Cost of Business and Power Up grants this year, according to Tipperary County Council’s Head of Finance.

Both grants were introduced by the Government to assist businesses with increased energy and other costs.

Mr Mark Connolly told the Council’s annual Budget Meeting that the council processed 4,249 submissions from businesses for the ICOB grant this year and paid out €4.5m in grants under the first ICOB round and a further €2.9m to 1,600 businesses in the second round of the scheme.

Power Up grant

The €4,000 Power Up grant available to hospitality, retail and beauty businesses was also administered by the Council on behalf of the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment.

Mr Connolly reported that €6.2m in Power Up grants have already been paid out to Tipperary businesses.

The closing date for applications for this scheme was November 22.
