Tipperary GAA club all set to start 'Ireland Lights Up' walking campaign this month

Six weeks "Ireland Lights Up" walking initiativie is now "up and running" in west Tipperary village

Ireland Lights Up encourages GAA clubs across Ireland to turn on their floodlights and open their walking tracks to enable communities to come together to walk and talk in a safe environment

The annual Ireland Lights Up walking campaign in association with the GAA clubs Healthy Clubs and Irish Life is back again and in Upperchurch Drombane - weather permitting - the hope is to start the campaign on Wednesday Jan 8th and run it for 6 consecutive weeks.
The plan is to gather at 7pm each Wednesday in the GAA grounds and from there you can walk as many laps as you wish.
The new section of the walking track will be open and there is 1.1km of track now available to walk. People can walk at their own pace in a fully lit, safe and social environment which is buggy friendly and suitable for all ages.
This is a FREE event and we encourage all to participate as we take part in the Every Step Counts initiative and strive to collectively hit 4,000km over the 6 weeks.
If the club hit this mark they will be entered into the draw to win a share of €30,000. So be sure to pencil in the walking track for Wednesday evenings over the next few weeks.
