Well-known Tipperary club sends tribute to club stalwart who passed away recently

Thurles RFC extended their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Francis (Franz) Molloy.
Franz played a huge part in the development and running of Thurles Rugby Club as a player, selector, and senior committee member, and also served as Chairman of the club from 1969 to 1972.
Residing in Ballinea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Holycross Tipperary, Franz passed away peacefully on January 3rd surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the staff at the Midland Regional Hospital and previously at Newbrook Nursing Home Mullingar.
Beloved husband of Katrina, much loved father to son Peter and daughters Clara and Rosanne, dear father-in-law to Charlotte, loving and adored Grand Pa to Alexander and Ivan.
Deeply regretted by his brothers Anthony and Joseph, sister Christelle, (predeceased by his sister Mary), sisters-in-law Veronica, Josephine, Pamela, and Miriam, extended family, and many friends.
He is reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home (N91 K660) on today (Monday, January 6th) from 4.30 pm to 6 pm with removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30 pm.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 7th at 11 am followed by burial in Walshestown Cemetery.
