Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council helps locals clear paths in Cashel

Declan Burgess has received the following from Uisce Eireann regarding local water outages: The Springmount Scheme supplies Parts of Golden, Cashel, Springmount, Castlelake, Ballinamona, Cloughleigh, Caiseal Na Ri and surrounding areas.
The treatment plant is back operational. Customers will begin to regain supply throughout the day, anticipated all customers will have supply restored by early Tuesday the 7th of January.

The Galtee Regional Scheme supplies areas around Cashel, Rosegreen, Bansha, Aherlow, Lattin, Cullen, Emly, Limerick Junction, Mount Bruise, Kilfeacle, New Inn and Tankerstown.

Full supply is not expected to be restored until Wednesday or Thursday for customers supplied by the Galtee Regional Scheme who are located at the end of the scheme or at higher elevations.

Uisce Eireann is deploying tankers at the following locations: Emly GAA Pitch, Lattin GAA Pitch, Monard (Church at Solahead Road) and Mount Bruise National School (times will be confirmed later today).

Cllr Burgess has requested water tankers to be deployed in Cashel town as a matter of urgency.

Cllr Declan Burgess has said: “Due to large volumes of snowfall across Tipperary and freezing conditions I am encouraging people to not travel unless it is absolutely necessary.

"Thank you to County Council, ESB and Uisce Eireann crews who are dealing with ongoing issues and I will continue to liaise with the public and these authorities.

"I hope the public will stay safe during these weather conditions."
