Huge Tipperary interest as Fitzgibbon cup takes centre stage later this week

The Fitzgibbon cup takes centre stage this month with a plethora of games down for decision this week and there are a huge number of Tipperary players involved with teams. 

This week teams placed in three groups will take the field with a lot of big names in the hurling world involved including intercounty players Darragh Stakelum (Thurles Sarsfields), Sean Kenneally (Moneygall) and Ben Currivan (Golden/Kilfeacle).

The full list of Tipperary players involved is below as well as the group fixtures.

Fitzgibbon

The Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup commences this week with four games down for decision on Wednesday and Thursday.

Group A
In Group A, this Wednesday 2024 finalists University of Limerick host SETU Waterford in UL at 7.30pm. Also on Wednesday defending champions Mary Immaculate College Limerick make the trip to Liam Mellows to take on ATU Galway at 7pm.

Group B
This Wednesday, University of Cork host University of Dublin at the Mardyke with a 5.30pm throw in. On Thursday, University of Galway host MTU Cork at 7.30pm in Dangan.

Group C
Group C gets underway on Thursday TUS Midwest host DCU Dochas Eireann at 7pm.

Group A
University of Limerick, SETU Waterford, ATU Galway, Mary Immaculate College Limerick
Group B
University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Galway, MTU Cork
Group C
DCU Dochas Eireann, TUS Midwest, Maynooth University

Winners from Groups A & B go straight to the semi-finals. Runners-up in Groups A & B plus Winners and Runner-up from Group C go to the quarter-finals.
