Tipperary winter walking festival set to attract walkers from all over the country

The Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival takes place at the end of January

The Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society in association with the Galtee Walking Club embarks on their annual Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival in Tipperary over the weekend of January 24th – 26th 2025. 

Following the success of last year’s Winter Festival the expectation is for even more visitors to experience the Glen and the beautiful landscapes. 

Enjoy winter walking with corrie lakes, open mountain, woodland trails and forest tracks led by experienced guides from the Galtee Walking Club.  

The Festival will host 7 guided walks over 3 days: 

Friday evening walk -7.30pm from Aherlow House Hotel we will take a nice easy stroll, through the Nature Park and around Christ the King.. 

Saturday 25th – 10 am “A” walkers can enjoy the 3 Dolmen Walk in Winter over 17km, at 11 am “B” Walkers head to lake Borheen, “C” walkers will enjoy the beauty of the Glen as they walk from Aherlow house Hotel to Rock an Tarbh (11am). 

On Sunday, walkers will get to experience The Galtee Horseshow (9.30 am) or Lough Currra Loop (11am) or if you just want a stroll you can walk to the Millenium Stone. (11am)
