The stunning view of Clonmel at night from the Holy Year Cross above the town
The South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association is gearing up to host its annual fundraising 15km Long Way Round nighttime walk/run in Clonmel and its environs this weekend.
The event that includes a trek up to the Holy Year Cross overlooking Clonmel, was originally due to take place on November 23 but was postponed due to Storm Bert.
It's now taking place on Saturday, January 25 starting at SEMRA's base on the Heywood Road at 6pm for runners and 6.05pm for walkers. Check-in for participants opens at Gael Cholaiste Ceitinn (E91 K2 E2) at 4.30pm.
Participants should wear suitable footwear, hiking boots, shoes or trail runners.
Bring a hi-vis vest, torch, extra layers, hat & gloves. There will be a snack station on the route with sweets, fruit and water to fill up your bottles.
