Denis Lynch and Vistogrand finished second at the Grand Prix in Amsterdam on Sunday
It was a memorable weekend on the international stage for two Tipperary showjumpers, with Cashel’s Trevor Breen and Tipperary Town’s Denis Lynch both recording superb results.
Trevor Breen scored a magnificent comeback victory in Sunday’s four-star Longines FEI World Cup Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Breen, who had suffered a broken neck and back in a fall last May, produced the only double clear of the competition to take the win with the 11-year-old mare Luidam’s Warrior in a time of 43.36 seconds.
Kildare’s Michael Pender and HHS Cyprus (ISH) narrowly missed out on a place in the jump-off when they picked up four faults in the first round, as they finished tenth overall.

Also on Sunday afternoon, Denis Lynch and the 12-year-old stallion Vistogrand continued their ultra-consistent run of form, when they secured a runner-up finish in the five-star Longines FEI World Cup Grand Prix in Amsterdam.
