Tipperary's Cistercian College Roscrea booked their spot in the Leinster Schools Senior Cup semi-finals with a hard-fought victory over Gonzaga College at Energia Park, led by standout performances from centres Jack Deegan and Robert Carney, who combined for whopping 29 points.

Roscrea struck first with a Deegan penalty, but Gonzaga responded through scrum-half James O’Dwyer’s unconverted try. A swift counterattack saw Deegan cross the line, adding the extras and another penalty to push Roscrea ahead.

Despite back-to-back tries from Joshua and Zachary Mulligan for Gonzaga, Carney’s two quickfire tries, both converted by Deegan, gave Roscrea a 27-19 halftime lead.

Gonzaga closed the gap to one point early in the second half through Zachary Mulligan and a Daragh O’Dwyer conversion, but Roscrea hit back with tries from hooker Eoin Naughton and scrum-half Fionn Carney.

A late Bobby Colbert try and O’Dwyer’s fourth conversion set up a tense finish, but Roscrea held firm to secure the win and a place in the last four of this year's competition.
