Tipperary Olympian Daire Lynch is to be honoured in his own town on St Patrick's Day

The Mayor of Clonmel discusses plans for the big parade with the man himself

Clonmel’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2025 will be a celebration of community spirit on the streets of Clonmel on Monday 17 March 2025 at 3pm.

Clonmel will be bustling with energy on Monday 17 March St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated the  annual parade, beginning at 3pm. This year promises to be a fantastic event, filled with music, culture, and fun.

 Grand Marshal for the 2025 parade is none other than Olympic rower Daire Lynch. Daire, a member of Clonmel Rowing Club, has had an illustrious rowing career to date, competing in National, European and World Championships, securing plenty of medals along the way.

Most notably, he and his rowing partner Philip Doyle won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a remarkable achievement that brought pride to Clonmel and Ireland.

His dedication and achievements are an inspiration to us all, and we are honoured to
have him leading this year’s parade.
