It was a seriously tight finish as the Cian Quirke-ridden Maciver added to his wins at Tramore on New Year's Day and at Limerick in late January when completing a hat-trick in the near three-mile handicap chase at Clonmel on Thursday.
The Arthur O’Grady-trained 4/1 favourite held the rallying 8/1 chance Spellacy's Cross, trained by Jimmy Barcoe, by a shorthead.

Quirke has been in the saddle for all three of the eight-year-olds wins this year proving the up and coming jockey is one to watch over the coming months.
